A Call for Manners in the World of Nasty Blogs

I'm not sure how I feel about this... interesting idea.

Anytime a person uses profanity in writing articles and comments on blogs they short circuit the intelluctual process of reason and logic.

I believe that is the majoe weaknesses in American: the ability to have a command of the English language, and the substitute of vulgarisms for intelligence and good manners.

Last Friday I talked to a yound co-ed on the campus of Purdue University and the woman prefaced every spoken sentence with the word, "basically," and ended each sentence with the word "actually." I actually counted the number of times she used both words in our conversation.

I am afraid it is a downward slope from here: No turning back to the days of proper English, correct diction and good social manners.

Maybe newspapers could increase their circulations with a good manners and proper speaking section; it sure wouldn't hurt.
