Katie Couric's Troubled Newscast
I thought this was interesting. I liked Katie on Today but have been really disappointed with her evening news role.

How to post to Cronkbyte
You must be signed in through blogger.com to be able to create a post, which means you had to have answered the e-mailed invitation. Once you are signed in, a "dashboard" page shows with links to all blogs to which you belong. There are links to post to the blog. A form, resembling e-mail, will appear and you can enter a headline, a link for that headline, and the body of the message. Icons are tools for inserting links, images, blockquotes, etc. When you click "publish," your work is uploaded to the Web. You will be able to edit your posts through the dashboard.

CBS News did a lengthy research project for their nightly news cast before deciding to hire Katie. They found that Couric wouldn't move rating numbers over night. It would take at least two years before rating would move their way. Everything they study has went true to course, so far. Couric will need to be in the chair for at least three years, similiarly to Cronkite. He wasn't a "star" overnight either.
CBS also took into consideration that network news was a diminishing commodity and planned accordingly. The ratings will come but it will be this time in 2009.
